Something incredible I’ve noticed in this journey : our customers can spend 4+k€ of licences to run a client application but they only provide 250€ PCs to run it …(on WIN XP 32 bits…) eventhough we specified something else …īelieve me or not : We had to purchase a PC to show them that we could double our windows opening time by just changing the hardware. Since Intouch cannot use multicore processors, the cpu choice is very important. The improvement I am going to talk about today is about the hardware. By itself the idea was good, but I’ve not been careful about the tons of attributes we were able to connect on some windows. The root cause is my personal fault when I’ve insisted to develop using a full HD screen resolution in order to have a “future proof” application. Our dear customer gave us the windows specs at the last minute after waiting for a year …And we accepeted thinking we were ready to face this Subject : Some windows were very slow to open and get live values. I’ve decided to propose a serie of articles to share with you what we’ve done and how. We’ve had performance issues recently on a big application.
